Today is beautiful. The sun shines with the promise of warmth (or at least its semblance), and it is the first morning in a while that I have not seen puddles on the ground. I slept in, glorying in being able to wake whenever I chose, and although my revelry did not last past 10:30 ante meridiem, my waking was still a favored slow and drawn-out one. I piddled around online for awhile, reading blogs and replying to posts, before I rose to actually begin the day in that same slow and drawn-out manner. I gathered my books and laptop and moved from my dorm room to the floor lounge, settling into the most comfortable corner cushion and plopping my books in a pile beside the computer and omnipresent cell phone. I picked up my Old Testament survey hardcover, turning to the chapter on Leviticus, when I realized that a cup of hot coffee would make everything even better.
So...that desire entailed the need to figure out how to work the lounge's coffee maker. Okay, admittedly, I am not so good at estimating the ratio of coffee grounds to water. So I faked it, and ended up with a thick brown liquid that was much stronger than I had intended. Oh well. It is still amazingly good, especially when paired with French Vanilla creamer...which I just realized I have left sitting on the microwave for the past two hours, *retrieves creamer and returns to refrigerator*. All is well with the world when good, strong coffee is married to the glorious late morning and academic edification. So, I continue on with my day in like fashion, taking every chore slowly and savoring the beauty of the last day of the weekend before the chaos of classes sets in once more. This is my favorite kind of day.
